Queerky Tales: Snow White & the Poisoned Apple by Rhys Christopher Ethan Queerky Tales: Snow White & the Poisoned Apple by Rhys Christopher Ethan May 04, 2012 8498 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Rhys Christopher Ethan was born in Greece in 1991, moved to London in 2010 and is currently studying Theatre and English Literature in University of East London. He is an avid fan of fantasy and fiction literature and it is the genre he most often writes for. Rhys also writes songs hoping to have them composed one day. He has been writing since the age of 12 and has not stopped since. Ethan has found the cure for writer's block, but his workload is still in his way. He loves sitting at any small cafés he can find in London and write with Enya's music playing on his headphones. Rhys Christopher's favourite author is Anthony Horowitz, who has inspired the way he works. He is currently working on a picture book, a film script, the second instalment of Queerky Tales and his longest project ever, the first novel of a fantasy series.
Black And Blue, The Blue Series Volume 3 by Josephine Dillon Black And Blue, The Blue Series Volume 3 by Josephine Dillon April 20, 2012 207414 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Josephine Dillon was born March 9th, 1969 in Kenitra, Morocco, to parents Patricia and Eugene Godfrey. She grew up in Oceanside, one of the northern suburbs of San Diego, California, graduating from Vista High School. She later attended San Diego State University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing. She has been a registered nurse since graduating in 1995, working in the profession for the past sixteen years. As a novice writer, I wrote the first three books from The Blue Series during the years 2006 through 2009 and am currently writing the fourth and final book in the series. The story was created in the early 1980's, when I was a young teenager. These novels are my first work of fiction. Please note that all the characters and story are fictional and only a few isolated incidents paralleled my existence at the time. The Irish Setter Reuben, the high school, and the home address were all from my childhood and not fictional. I attended and graduated from Vista High School, (survived is more like it), and I lived and grew up in Oceanside. The failed attempt to drown was my experience, and I will admit to wanting desperately to be a boy when I was growing up. Along with that, I also had a very vivid imagination. My family, however, were not at all similiar to the Smiths - I had loving, caring, nonjudgemental parents who adored me. Hope you enjoy the book but most importantly for new writers like me, please write a review? Even if the book did not appeal to you, could you state why? I would really appreciate it. To those readers who braved a download of Beyond The Blue Part 1 and 2, please make sure to download the latest versions. I found a huge mistake in the sequencing of the chapters in the book and would appreciate it if my readers could download it again (it's free!) so that they can read it the way it should be read. This book was just too big to be a single work, which is why I spliced it, however in doing so, I made a mistake in the timing of the story. I hope you enjoy Beyond The Blue Part 1 and Part 2. Part 2 is for adult readers only and I've chosen to make it free because I want to write for the fun of it. If you catch grammatical errors, I apologize, but since I am my own editor, please forgive me. I am currently editing my third book, Black and Blue and it's another beast, 600 pages long. I'm editing slowly in my free time but it's tedious. If you would like me to split it up into two parts like I did the second book, then send me an email or write on my facebook page. I am also currently writing the fourth book, about 150 pages into it. Please write me reviews? I thrive on it and enjoy reading your thoughts. Or post a comment on my facebook page. This is my hobby and I will continue to allow downloads of my books for free to Smashword readers. If you want a printed copy, I am currently at Off The Book Shelf, but that will cost you because I only get a small percentage of the profit and can't set the price. I might look into Create A Space instead if it will save the reader money. We'll see what happens, til then, happy reading.

I wrote about robots. When I was a kid, my first story was about robots that looked like people: the only survivors of a world-wide nuclear war. What can I say? I grew up in the 70's. Since then I've sculpted all manner of stories about all sorts of topics. Science Fiction and Fantasy still remain favorites of mine and, usually, what I can express in speculative fiction I'd rather not express in other formats. I love short stories and am working on making this writing bug that I've harbored for so many years finally work for me. Here goes nothing.

Andra claims it’s her father who’s to blame, reading The Hobbit to her at bedtime when she was seven. All her fantasy and Other World obsessions started from there. Growing up in Asia, she caught the usual afternoon kiddie anime series on TV after school but the beginning of a love to last a lifetime for fiction and fantasy came via Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1988 movie Akira which she saw when she was eleven. A decade and a half later in London, after many more anime series, Dragonlance books, Darkness: The Gathering artwork, through high school and hand-writing stories into notebooks with a mysterious penchant for getting lost by the folks who “borrowed” them, comic books, graphic novels and Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, she’s still at it. Supporting Blaine in all matters regarding household, teenagers, cairn terrier Kendra and pursuing her dreams, is her long-suffering husband for over twenty years. I've been writing as long as I can remember (which is longer than I like to admit). I started creating M/M romances in high-school, filling binders with stories about what Starsky and Hutch really did on their days off. (Pretty PG-rated stuff - we're talking sheltered fourteen-year-old here. I was into the romantic possibilities.) Any potential writing career got side-tracked by forays into art, psychology, teaching, and a biomedical profession. And the challenges of raising children. When I took up the keyboard again it was just for fun, writing books for my own entertainment. At about manuscript seven, my epically patient spouse told me that if I was going to spend that much time at it, I should try to get published. And he kept saying it, loudly, until I submitted one. And it was accepted! (Really exciting!) That's Life Lessons that was published May 2011 MLR Press. A short story, And to All a Good Night, that follows it is available here for free. The sequel, Breaking Cover, came out from MLR in late July. And I'm currently in the editing process for other work, including a werewolf novel, Unacceptable Risk. My Smashwords book, Lies and Consequences, started as a kind of reaction after the November 2010 elections when the DADT repeal looked like it might be derailed. Then I was caught by surprise as I finished the book in December and the repeal passed. I tweaked it by upping the action, and deemphasizing the DADT subplot. The result was something lightweight, but hopefully fun. So I put it out as a free read. I hope you enjoy it. As a new author, I really appreciate reviews - what you liked and what you didn't. Remember those other six manuscripts? (Okay, nine now.) Maybe your comment will help turn the next good book into a better book. KH

I also write with my sister under Tasha-and-Sophie Duncan, and for some of my adult fiction as A D Benedict. By day I am a project manager developing IT solutions for a large company in the South East of England. By night, you'll find me scribbling away at many a story that just won't leave me alone. I've been writing since I was a wee thing, and publishing since I discovered the internet in 1994 or so. So what do I write? Contemporary and urban fantasy have mainly been my playground, but I have done some real world settings as well. I do like mystery and have been reading (and watching) Agatha Christie since I was a child. I've also been known to do a bit of poetry. Style: I have been told I do angst well, so if you want your heartstrings twanged, or your tummy to tie in knots until the end, then I'm your gal. I am, however, a happy ending junkie, although I do throw a hint of realism in there sometimes as well. I like a few twists and turns on the way in some of my plots, although I have written my share of PWPs as well. I have to admit a small obsession with eyes: I believe they are the seat of beauty in a person, so I play with them in creature fic and use them for expression in others - personal hang up, sorry. Also, I have never met a cliché I didn't like and I am a firm believer that cliché is fine if you do it right. Writing is a passion and there's nothing better than writing for an audience. Any writer who says they don't care about feedback must have had an ego amputation :) If you life my scribbles, I'd be very glad to hear from you.

Author bio:
I'm a female writer and I live in the United Kingdom. I’m a staunch supporter of GLBTQ Rights and Marriage Equality. Love is an important aspect of the human experience and its free expression should not be denied to anyone. No one should be made to feel guilty or tormented simply for being in love or for being who they were created to be. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ If you're looking for a complex thriller, hardcore, heavily sexualised erotica, gritty gay realism, typical BDSM leather scenarios, a horror trip or a gory murder mystery then you've come to the wrong place. So, what the heck DO I write? In a nutshell - sassy, sensual gay discipline fiction ~ stories with a D/s twist More details: I don't write vanilla romance, classic spanking erotica or BDSM. My stories incorporate elements from all those mediums, but essentially belong to a sub group of romance/power exchange fiction often referred to as discipline romance fiction or discipline partnership fiction. Not everyone understands or 'gets' discipline fiction and that's fine. I don't 'get' prawn cocktail flavour crisps, but I uphold the right of people to eat them should their taste buds be wired that way. In discipline fiction the spanking scenes are not there to serve as a precursor to a sex scene. They illustrate the consensual submission of one partner to the authority of the other. It's a form of power exchange. While sex is certainly an aspect of my fiction it isn't the main focal point, so if you think of and enjoy M/M stories only in terms of heat level and detailed sex scenes then my fic probably won't be to yout taste. I tend to focus more on the emotional side of things and of course the discipline aspect. As well as being the vehicle by which I express my interest in discipline practices, my stories are about everyday relationships, situations, affection and love. They're quirky, warm hearted and sensitive with a liberal sprinkling of offbeat humor. They're entertaining, sometimes thought provoking and always observant of the human condition. I’ve been writing in this genre for over ten years. I have many theories as to why I’m drawn so strongly to this type of fiction. Perhaps it allows me to express aspects of my personality that would otherwise remain repressed. None of it really matters, I write what I like to write and that's it. :) ~I also write a series called 'The Stardust Diaries' under the name Tarn Swan.
