Swept Up In Blue | by Pender Mackie Feb. 05, 2012 | 4802 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Pender Mackie lives in Canada though she spent her childhood years in England. An imaginative child, Pender wasn’t a willing student and didn’t learn to read until her father—deciding some incentive was needed—promised her a pony as soon as she could read a newspaper. Properly motivated, Pender picked up a book and discovered the joys of fiction. Though her infatuation with ponies didn’t last, she still loves a good story. Pender has been writing M/M romance stories for about three years, but has only just started submitting some of them for publication. She is busy putting the final touches on several others. |

Lost Cowboy Moon Time | by Madeira Desouza Jan. 25, 2012 | 24075 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I was born in the United States into a Portuguese-American culture that was dominated by the Roman Catholic Church. In that culture there was no room for anything but macho and tough males, who were expected to produce babies. Of course, this was intended to happen after getting married, never before. The more tough you looked and acted, and the higher the number of offspring you generated, the more masculine you were perceived to be in that culture. This worship of testosterone runs hot and freely in many other ethnic groups in the US, but it is particularly evident in those of Mediterranean origin like mine. Growing up in that culture ensured my social programming was to think that I was straight. How I discovered the truth about being gay is worth pursuing in some detail at my website. I was formally educated in the art and craft of storytelling, photography, news reporting, etc. when I worked towards earning my undergraduate degree in journalism. In the professional context, I learned that telling a story is an essential ingredient if one wants to connect with an audience. I am an illustrator and storyteller who chooses to produce depictions in text and images that include themes of masculine men in peril. My depictions of masculine vulnerable men in peril have a high level of dramatic tension and energy. To me, depicting love expressed between one man and another man in images or stories is not sufficiently dramatic in the storytelling sense. In contrast, stories about breaking up or suffering the loss of a love contain far more dramatic energy for the audience. The man-meets-man-and-falls-in-love-and-then-they-live-happily-ever-after story is not for me as a steady diet. Such storytelling (in text or visual form) emphasizes the powerful but false belief that life turns out happily and positive for everyone. |

Max and Julie | by Jon Rutherford Jan. 17, 2012 | 41655 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Longtime (as in really, really long) Midwest USA resident, Jon has, in common with Ben in his novella "Bumps," a useless degree in French. Interests include classical guitar, classical music in general, writing (surprised?), endlessly watching streaming movies, coffee, and all sorts of other stuff. Jon is attracted to writing stories in which good people do good things for one another. He feels that you hardly ever get to read that kind of thing in the news media. And yet it happens all the time. He also likes zany action and words generally with a gay-related theme. There's generally an element of fantasy, and some pretty seriously rough language. He's noticed that, gulp, people really talk that way. |

But yes, it is forever rainy here -.- - I'm in love with the thought of love *sigh* yep, hopeless romantic right here. - I'm bisexual, and proud. Admitedly, I get quite defensive when someone is homophobic. - I'm commited to the cutest and most kindest boy ever, and I love him to pieces ^__^ - I love the alternative style, its sexy ;) - Piercings are a YES! - Tattoos are HOT! - Total 'Faghag' - BOYLOVE FTW!! - Anime, music, eating pizza, strawberrys, reading, writing, drawing, TrueBlood :D DON'T BE AFRAID TO TALK TO ME - I'm open minded and like making new friends (: So PM me if you want a chat (I can't use the actual chat on this, because the iPad is trippy D:) But yeah, talk to me people! xD I have quite a few ideas flying round for the future books that I'm going to be putting up on here. I hope you all like them xD hehe I do have the tendency to write up some, erm.. Sexual scenes, between all genders I might add. But, I will try my best to tame some of my stories so their suitable for the lesser perverted readers (obviously I'm not included there hehe) But yeah, I appreciate constructive criticism, and I love to hear your opinions on my writing. So if you like my work, say so! (: ~ Jaay |

Sliders: The Dark Side of Transgender | by Aimee Norin Jan. 09, 2012 | 87016 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I believe a person should be able to follow his or her own heart, but I also believe long-term happiness is best sought with a realistic understanding of the problems involved. No one person can provide that for others, but I believe an approach to issues with both the light and the dark side of things is helpful in finding a workable path through life. |

Never let go : To have and to hold | by Aeryn Jaden Jan. 09, 2012 | 8937 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: So, I'm twenty-four going on fifty and bored to death living in a city in a forgotten country called Romania. I spice my life by reading all that I get my hands on (with an unhealthy predilection towards more pervy genres like erotic literature and addictive m/m stories). As for writing, I've started doodling at the age of seven, at eleven I shocked my lit teach with a sci-fi short love story(by then I was well acquainted with my mom's hidden stash of Sandra Brown and Sidney Sheldon)and proceeded to take a short break in my literature career...lol. Finally after like fifteen years of avid reading, I've said what the heck, and started writing again. Now I'm hoping my readers will be harder to shock and won't need therapy to recover. |

Like the Taste of Summer | by Kaje Harper Jan. 03, 2012 | 15362 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I've been writing as long as I can remember (which is longer than I like to admit). I started creating M/M romances in high-school, filling binders with stories about what Starsky and Hutch really did on their days off. (Pretty PG-rated stuff - we're talking sheltered fourteen-year-old here. I was into the romantic possibilities.) Any potential writing career got side-tracked by forays into art, psychology, teaching, and a biomedical profession. And the challenges of raising children. When I took up the keyboard again it was just for fun, writing books for my own entertainment. At about manuscript seven, my epically patient spouse told me that if I was going to spend that much time at it, I should try to get published. And he kept saying it, loudly, until I submitted one. And it was accepted! (Really exciting!) That's Life Lessons that was published May 2011 MLR Press. A short story, And to All a Good Night, that follows it is available here for free. The sequel, Breaking Cover, came out from MLR in late July. And I'm currently in the editing process for other work, including a werewolf novel, Unacceptable Risk. My Smashwords book, Lies and Consequences, started as a kind of reaction after the November 2010 elections when the DADT repeal looked like it might be derailed. Then I was caught by surprise as I finished the book in December and the repeal passed. I tweaked it by upping the action, and deemphasizing the DADT subplot. The result was something lightweight, but hopefully fun. So I put it out as a free read. I hope you enjoy it. As a new author, I really appreciate reviews - what you liked and what you didn't. Remember those other six manuscripts? (Okay, nine now.) Maybe your comment will help turn the next good book into a better book. KH |

David In Prague | by Tim Stewart Dec. 30, 2011 | 8194 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I live in Amsterdam. I've been here for over six years now and I love it. The gay scene has reduced from the heady days of the nineties and the early part of the last decade, but it's still vibrant. I've had a number of jobs, but now I write as a living. These gay short stories are just a prelude before I write my first gay adventure novel. You'll have to wait for that. I'll leave it for you to decide. Are the short stories autobiographical? Are they pure fiction? Are they stories about people I know? I'm not saying. That would spoil the fun. I enjoyed writing them and hope you enjoy reading them. |

Because It Feels Good | by R.J. Hamilton Dec. 23, 2011 | 28041 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I am originally from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. I resided in my hometown until graduating in 1994 when I joined the United States Army as an Infantryman. During my Army career I had 2 tours in the Balkans and another 2 more recently in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I wrote my 1st book "Self Convictions" while deployed to Baghdad. I ended my military career after 12 years of service as a Correctional Specialist working in the United States Disciplinary Barracks in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in December of 2009. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in English Writing at Washburn University. I currently live in Topeka, Kansas. The Self Series: "Self Convictions," "Self Consciousness," "Self Conclusions," & "Self Consequences," (in that order) are not self-help books by the way. They are suspense thrillers with a mental twist. I, along with Michael Rohr, wrote a compilation of tragic short stories and poetry titled "Dark Solo." The stories may strike closer to home than you'd expect. "And the Hand of God," is a story about the end of days as per the book of Revelations. With all of the natural disasters happening in our world, I decided to write this book. The story is about Jared, a man with a dark past, and Lily, a woman with a history herself, as they fight to survive against Mother Nature's wrath. Visit http://rjhamilton.webs.com/ for more info |

Having dabbled with writing on and off for years, it wasn’t long before Stevie was tapping away on the keyboard inventing stories around two hot guys, gaining her first publication in the summer of 2007. Stevie likes reading stories with a good strong plot and believable characters and does her best to create them in her own work. Stevie has a soft spot for Historical settings but also thoroughly enjoys SF and Fantasy, Paranormal and Contemporary, finding the similarities as intriguing as the differences. Stevie already has a variety of novels, novellas and short stories released by Torquere Press, Phaze Books, MLR Press and Amber Quill Press. Cherry Brandy (The Liqueur Sextet I) | by Paul Dyer Sep. 18, 2011 | 36317 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I graduated with a master’s degree in English and Critical Theory from Pepperdine University, Malibu, where I also worked for several years as a Humanities Discussion Leader and a Writing Center Tutor. Then, while pursuing my writing, I worked at a video store that specialized in out-of-print, hard-to-find, art house, and adult films. I’ve even worked for the Catholic church, but that’s another novel. I like genre fiction, but even here I tend to interject social commentary and critique. I once quipped to a friend that the best novel for me would be a series of Platonic dialogs (relating to contemporary social issues), liberally interspersed with subversive pornography. Without loss of character and story. I’m still fumbling my way toward this literary ideal. |

Growing up in Asia, she caught the usual afternoon kiddie anime series on TV after school but the beginning of a love to last a lifetime for fiction and fantasy came via Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1988 movie Akira which she saw when she was eleven. A decade and a half later in London, after many more anime series, Dragonlance books, Darkness: The Gathering artwork, through high school and hand-writing stories into notebooks with a mysterious penchant for getting lost by the folks who “borrowed†them, comic books, graphic novels and Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, she’s still at it. Still dreaming, still writing. |
